Petiketi is a companion app: a pet that chats with you, remembers what you tell it, and helps you keep track of reminders, goals, spending and your own health. That only works if it holds on to some of what you share, so this page explains exactly what that is, where it goes, and how to have it removed.
If anything here is unclear, write to us at info@petiketi.com.
What we collect
Your account. Your email address and the name you choose. Your password is stored only as a one-way hash, so we cannot read it. When you sign up or reset your password we email you a short code, which expires soon after.
Your companion. The pets you adopt, their names, stats, levels, coins, items and achievements.
Your conversations. The messages you send your pet and its replies, and the things it remembers about you from them ("memories").
What you ask it to keep track of. Reminders, daily goals and the days you ticked them off, expenses, income, accounts and budgets, and the answers you give in "About you".
Your health, if you use that part. Your height, weight, age, sex and how active you are, the meals you log and the calories and nutrients worked out from them, and your weight as it changes over time. This is collected only if you set the health module up โ the rest of the app works without it, and you can delete what is there at any time.
Purchases. Whether you have a subscription and how many coins you hold. Payments are handled by Apple or Google; we never see your card details.
On your device. Your signed-in session and a few preferences, such as which pet is active and whether you have seen the tour.
Notifications. If you turn them on, a token from Apple or Google identifying your device, so reminders and nudges can reach it. Turning notifications off in Profile or in your phone's settings stops this.
How you use the app. Which screens you open and what you do there โ for example, that you adopted a pet, added a goal or sent a message โ but never what you wrote. You can switch this off in Profile.
When something goes wrong. If the app crashes or hits an error, a report is sent saying what failed and where in the app's code, with your device model and system version. It does not include what you wrote. The same Profile switch turns this off.
When the app talks to our servers, they see your IP address, which we use for security โ for example, to slow down repeated sign-in attempts.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos or advertising identifiers, and the app contains no advertising.
How your pet replies
Your pet's replies are written by an AI model, Claude, made by Anthropic. To write a reply we send Anthropic your message together with what your pet needs to answer well: its personality and how it is feeling, what it remembers about you, your "About you" answers, your upcoming reminders, a summary of your budget and today's goals. We do not send your email address or password.
Anthropic processes this to produce the reply, under its commercial terms. You can read how Anthropic handles data at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.
Your pet can make mistakes. Do not rely on it for medical, legal or financial advice.
If a message suggests you may not be safe, your pet will encourage you to reach out to a real person, and the app shows a link to free helplines. Nothing from that message is remembered or rewarded, and our records note only that help was shown โ never what you wrote.
How we use it
- To run the app: keep your account, your pets and everything you have added, and show them to you on any device you sign in on.
- To let your pet reply and remember you.
- To send the emails you need: confirming your address, resetting your password, and telling you when your password was changed.
- To keep the service secure and working.
- To understand which features people use and where they get stuck, so we can make the app better.
- To find and fix crashes and errors.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who else handles it
Only the companies that help us run Petiketi, and only for that purpose:
- Anthropic, to write your pet's replies, as described above.
- Our email provider, to deliver account emails.
- PostHog, our product analytics provider, to count which features are used. It receives your account's internal ID โ never your email, your name or anything you write.
- Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service, to receive crash and error reports, linked to your account's internal ID only.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging, also Google, to deliver notifications to your device when you have turned them on.
- Our hosting and cloud providers, which run our servers and database and store the app's images.
- Apple and Google, when you make a purchase through their stores.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users.
Some of these providers operate in other countries, including the United States, so your data may be processed outside the country you live in.
Keeping it safe
Connections between the app and our servers are encrypted, passwords are stored only as hashes, and access to our systems is limited to the people who run them. No service can promise perfect security, but we take it seriously.
Your choices
- Memories. You can see what your pet remembers on the Profile screen and delete any of it, at any time.
- Reminders, goals and money entries can be changed or removed in the app.
- Usage analytics and crash reports can be switched off at any time in Profile, under "Share usage and crash data".
- Your account. You can delete your account and everything linked to it at any time, from the bottom of the Profile screen. It happens straight away and cannot be undone. You can also email info@petiketi.com from the address you signed up with, and we will delete it within 30 days.
- A copy or a correction. Email us and we will send you a copy of your data or fix anything that is wrong.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights โ for example, to object to how we use your data or to complain to a data protection authority. We will help with any request made under the law that applies to you.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists, so your pet still knows you when you come back. When you delete your account, we delete its data, except anything we are required by law to keep.
Children
Petiketi is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change what we do with your data, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect.
